Sheldon Lomax sadly passed in 2022.

He was a long serving Deputy Chief of our station #2 in Dipper Harbour and will be sorely missed by all.

Ross McVicar sadly passed away in 2022 and will be greatly missed.

Ross was one of the original members of MFD station 2 and provided his expertise as Forest Ranger when MFD was still in its infancy.

The fire service of today is ever changing, but is steeped in traditions 200 years old. The ringing of the bell and the Firefighter's Prayer are two traditions of the fire service which reflect, respect and honour those who have passed.

 The Fire Fighters Prayer

When I am called to duty, God wherever flames may rage,

give me strength to save a life, whatever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child before it's too late,
or save an older person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout,
and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me,
to guard my neighbour and protect his property.
And if according to your will I have to lose my life,
bless with your protecting hand my loving family from strife.
